Ford idles Chicago assembly plant because of parts shortage

The plant’s UAW chairman said in a Facebook post that Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator output will resume with Wednesday’s evening shift. The shortage comes as a nearby Lear factory, which supplies seats for the Ford plant, is closing temporarily after an employee there tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
